Almost routine today: waking up, noticing it’s raining and waking up shortly after because of the bright sun. Weather in Berlin is highly unstable and weather reports are generally not to be trusted. If they say it will be raining, it rains as much as there will be sunshine shortly after. And then rain again. I blame those fast moving clouds! I packed my bags but left for a short errand without them.

I woke up early. At least in my terms. It was shortly before 11 a.m. when I left the apartment without bag or camera into a windy and cloudy Kreuzberg: I was on a mission!

Sunday is flea-market day, another one of my Berlin traditions. In happy anticipation I emptied my backpack for every burden except my worn and torn companion, my H.P. Lovecraft book. Light as a feather I withdrew some money ready to spend it all on the market on stupid electronic junk.

I slept not so well. It rained and the occasional thunder got amplified between the opposing walls in the courtyard. I could hear the rain on my windows and after my alarm rang half past ten, I decided to stay in bed until the weather cleared up. Two hours later I was up and spotted a little opening in the thick clouds above.

I slept very long but not too well, every couple of hours some noise disturbed my sleep. Finally, around 11 a.m. I managed to get up, get dressed and looked outside. It was gray and wet. I had to work up the nerve to really leave the place for good, it was almost too comfortable. My plan for the day was getting a new sketchbook (I had left mine at home), maybe some pencils or markers on the Kastanienallee, then have a breakfast in the Café St. Oberholz and reserach affordable pre-paid wireless-sticks.

So today I left for Berlin for this year. I won’t be staying as a long as in the past, six days will have to suffice. I would love to tell you that I’m 100% on vacation but I know that wouldn’t fool anybody: With our big film project Back to the Roots going and a tight deadline for an AEtus+ tutorial I almost forgot, there still will be much to do.
So the following will be this year’s rough travelogue for my dear Conny and me. If you are reading these lines and neither are Conny or me, then this is highly unexpected but please continue.
