    On the second day we all got late to the first lecture and missed “The VFX of Iron Man” and instead enjoyed the breakfast at our value-priced hotel whose every room was kept in shape for the whole place looked like a museum of 1970′s rustic dwelling. Mrs. Zheng apologized for not having boiled eggs and I downed every bit of orange juice that was left on the buffet because I almost died of thirst the night before. Mrs. Zheng didn’t like seeing me drinking eagerly directly out of the jar but left it at a sullen glance this time. Then we drove off to the Haus der Wirtschaft once again.

    Via Lewandowsky. Von Hinten. (2006)…but not in real life. Clipping errors for example. I guess everybody of you has seen them by now. Imagine the first Playstation games that came in 3D, especially the buggy ones where solid objects began overlapping each other. In fact it happens so often when working in 3D that even Pixar’s A Bug’s Life had some clipping errors going on in the grass now and then. It’s so ridiculously easy in the computer to do the impossible in the real world.

    Simpsons MovieEver heard of Gilgamesh? He is the hero of the world’s oldest epic. Gilgamesh becomes a hero on his journeys. That pretty much sums up the Simpsons movie I went to see with Lisa and about 50 other people yesterday. Sitting in the third row of the Royal English Cinema was a better idea thanks to the fairly big screen and the comfortable seats. A short report of our experience follows below. No spoilers, as usual.

    Gold TextureI am working on another project for BigBoy Productions and I needed a realistic gold texture with proper reflections but which doesn’t take eons to render. Years ago I was very close to photorealistic gold but unfortunately I forgot a big deal about it. After playing around for days I finally came up with a good solution which I will present you in this tutorial.
