The missing character: The P with filled counterFonts usually never grow old, they just become classics. But an incomplete font only gets forgotten. And as a hobby font-creator myself I produced an incomplete font, Zipher and wasn’t even aware of the incompleteness. Luckily I got an email from Richard Smith who sent me his request, to add the missing P with filled counter, along with a Patron-sized donation which made him instantly the person who donated the most money for the Promenade Blog. Oh, about the font: You can download the new and improved version from the Zipher page.

Zodiac CipherAnother day, another font. This time it’s another style written by the Cipher Killer Zodiac, when he was a little more same and rational when writing letters. That’s why it’s called Zanity. And I started out with OpenType and custom ligatures for all of you font buffs out there.

Zodiac Killer Font, Pt. I

Zodiac Cipher
I was busy reading “Zodiac” by Robert Graysmith the last week and I am about finishing the book. It’s a very good read and I recommend it, especially when you’re into details in the investigations or details in general. And while looking through Zodiac’s letter and ciphers I felt somehow the urge to make a TrueType font of Zodiac’s handwriting. So here it is.
EDIT: Renamed the Font from Zodiac Cipher ’69 to Zipher. Sounds slicker and orders alphabetically nicely with all the other Zodiac Killer Fonts I’ve created so far (or will in the future).
