fmx ’11, Day Zero

It was an exhausting day despite its predictability. I got up after four hours of sleep, finished packing my bag and got ready for holding my last lecture at the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences before leaving for the fmx 2011. Yes, it’s May, it’s springtime and nerds are feeling frisky for visual effects. The perfect time for their industry’s annual gathering in Stuttgart — with yours truly among them.

Three Months in Berlin

Berlin again — at last! It’s been nearly a year since my first visit to this amazing city and hence I am working as an intern at rise|fx I am about to stay much longer than last year which is great. I’ve been here only a couple of days now but I really like this city full of textures and shaders, not only for its textural qualities but also for the new way of living and working here.

The Smell of Summer

Here in Austria, and especially in Salzburg, it really takes some time until the eternal winter changes to spring and then magically transforms into something foreigners call “summer”. But there are ways to experience the beauty of Salzburg without really having summer already. Still there are some things in the change from the cold to the warm you certainly won’t like to smell…
